LOVE CONQUERS ALL

Today is my aunt and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary! They are our absolute role models: mutual respect, appreciation of the other’s wit and deep thoughts, love of hand-holding (not just for balance!) and each day’s simple pleasures.

To commemorate their big milestone, I framed up “Ensemble” from earlier this spring. It was painted as a representation of my husband and me, one figure outlined in pale green overlaid another outlined in white. How, with each other, we can withstand challenges as one. I loved how they share a...heart? An eye? When I looked ahead to their special anniversary, I immediately thought of this painting, and how it could also be an expression of my aunt and uncle’s loving, supportive relationship.

Here’s to love! And plenty more of it.
